Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 Breaks Cover

A little disappointedly, we’re likely to see the new Aprilia Dorsodura 1200 before we get a V4 version of the Tuono. We shouldn’t be too upset, however, because the bigger Dorsodura promises to be a lot more bonkers than its baby brother.

The 106 x 67.8mm engine dimensions are claimed to produce 130bhp, easily out-grunting the Ducati Hypermotard. The three mode mapping system of the 750 is retained, but a new traction control system should give grip to the Dorsodura’s go. Given the light revisions to the 750’s chassis, it should boss the back roads and Sachs suspension and Brembo brakes add refinement to the otherwise brutal package.

Piaggio’s other Italian concern, Moto Guzzi, has been given the green light to build the sumptuous V7 Racer (after we begged it to be built in issue 231).

We rather enjoyed the V7 Café Classic in our retro test this month (see page 40), but we’d have gone bananas had we rolled this beauty out (above). The 40mm Marzocchi forks and Bitubo shock headline a small but effective list of mods and upgrades.
