Honda Dominatrix

What do you do with a dreary Honda Dominator? Industry legend, PATA Honda PR man, and all-round top geezer Steve Booth decided to build a retro flat-tracker – aka, The Dominatrix.

I spotted a Dominator scrambler-thingy that Livio Suppo had done a couple of years ago and I was selling my CB1000R. I fancied going back to a single after an XBR500 I’d owned years ago, but really wanted a flat-tracker style and it all seemed a natural fit.”

With the help of Silverstone-based IDP Moto, the supreme bike fettlers took the standard NX650 and stripped it down to the last nut and bolt. The Dominator’s frame was trimmed down and a new subframe was fabricated, and other components were polished, painted, powder coated or zinc plated. To complete the ‘HM’ look, a tank was sourced and a seat was made.

Feedback, so far, has been so positive that IDP are hunting down more old Dominators to convert into flat-trackers. Look at that exhaust!
