The Losail circuit in Qatar is unique in more ways than one. Apart from staging the only floodlit race on the MotoGP calendar, Qatar is the only track you’ll get to see the carbon discs illuminate through thermal stress.
Our buddies at Brembo supply the braking systems on the majority of MotoGP bikes, and furnish us with some interesting data. There are eight major braking points, and the riders will spend 18% of their lap squeezing the brake lever.
The first turn requires braking from 221mph to 66mph for the apex, scrubbing off 155mph in 263 metres and pulling 1.4g.
