Form an orderly queue, because the latest issue of Fast Bikes is out, and we’re kicking off the year in fine style with a magazine that is rammed with bikes and bits.
We only had one score to settle going into the New Year, and that was working out if a fit and fired up BMW S 1000 RR was good enough to take on our SportsBike of the Year winner, the Aprilia RSV4 RF. You see, when we took all the bikes on test the BMW developed an ailment. That meant that we never got the chance to test the German beast against the Italian Stallion. But that all changed this month when we took the pair to Silverstone to spar.
What else have we been up to? Well, earlier we went on the Cannonball Bike Run, and Rootsy has only just recovered enough to talk about what went on in Europe. If you fancy blasting your way to Croatia and back, this is the way to do it.
Rootsy also had a mammoth trip to Macau scheduled in, getting an invite from Steve Heneghan’s Reactive Parts team. A week in Macau to watch an unbelievable race was draw enough – the bits that go on around the race were a bonus! Enough said…
Then we look ahead to your life on two wheels in 2016. We check out what’s on when, point you in the direction of some awesome races and line up some very special trips for you to undertake. Follow in our footsteps and you won’t be able to wipe the smile off your face all year!
And guess what happened next – Danny Kent turned up to the office! Yes, we had a world champion in, and boy did he offer us an amazing insight into his season! He’s a brilliant lad, telling some great tales and the interview was bloody brilliant to be part of.
And then there’s the rest of it – we’ve got the launch of the Africa Twin, a great product round-up, a cracking Addiction bike, riding techniques, a used guide on the Aprilia Tuono, how to transform a Triumph Daytona 675R into even more of a weapon, all of our regular masterclasses and columnists, and stacks more besides!
