2017 Aprilia RSV4 RF & Tuono 1100 Factory!

Aprilia are first to show their wares this year, with updates to the flagship RSV4 RF and Tuono 1100 Factory machines.02

The list of updates to both is fairly comprehensive, although from the outside it just seems as though a larger exhaust has been wanged on both – bloody Euro4!

Both bikes benefit from identical chassis and electronics upgrades, although the Tuono gets a bit more on the engine side of things. Highlights of changes to the RSV4 RF are as follows:

New extra 300rpm limiter (201bhp @ crank)
New ECU
New exhaust system
New 8-stage traction-control
New 3-stage wheelie-control
New launch control system
New Quickshift & down-blipper system
New Pit-lane limiter
New cruise-control
New TFT full-colour dash
New Upgraded TTX Öhlins shock & linkage
New upgraded NIX Öhlins fork internals
New 330mm Brembo discs (M50 calipers)
New advanced cornering ABS & rear-wheel-lift system
New V4-MP App – corner by corner electronic tailoring

So then, an extra 300rpm to combat the power loss of Euro4, but with some internal tweaks to also mitigate against any reliability issues the extra revolutions may propogate – clever! The new electronics are interesting, especially as they were already the best in the business. A down-shift blipper is welcome as is a bit of bling with the new colour dash. We can’t wait to get this bad boy on track! Oh, there’s the RR too, but we don’t get that in the UK – here it is anyway!

So, the Tuono is basically the same as the RSV4, which is no bad thing at all we say and will doubtless simply allow the bike to retain its crown as the very best sports naked on the planet. Why do we not have the keys to one already!

Here’s the RR Version!
