Ducati Reveal 2018 Monster 821!

by

We’re now at that time when new bikes will start being shown, well, at least some of them will, prior to the big shows taking place and the latest is from Ducati – their updated Monster 821!

The ‘baby’ Monster has alwys been a right laugh, even when it was down around the 600cc capacity mark, and the 821 was no exception.

This doesn’t count as a ‘new’ machine though, just a lightly updated one and in this case it apes its bigger brother, the 1200, in the looks department with a new tank, seat unit and exhaust.

It has also been given a nice TFT full colour dash too…

And there’s now the option of having not only a quick-shifter, but a down-shifter as an add-on item, too. Being Euro4, it has dropped a smidge of power but really nothing worth bothering about and for this model Ducati claim 109bhp @ 9,250rpm and 86Nm of torque @ 7,750rpm – more than enough for the job.

Otherwise it is as-is, which means decent pukka M4-32 calipers and whopping 320mm discs,  decent suspension and, of course, the ‘safety’ pack which comes with ABS, traction-control, various power modes, but no partridge in a pear tree.

It comes in Yellow, black and red, plus we’ll be riding this bike very soon indeed!
