Fancy the biggest engine and the highest torque figure of any production bike ever? Well, step right up…
Remember all the way back in 2004 when Triumph launched the original Rocket III? Yeah? Well 15 years on, things have got much bigger, and much better. Coming in with a 2,500cc powerplant (the largest ever production engine) the new Rocket 3s have 11% more power than the previous generation, and the highest torque on any production machine at a whopping tractor-pulling 221Nm @ 4000rpm. How does that sound?
Pretty good in our books, but it’s not all just about being big. In fact, it’s quite the opposite, as the Rocket 3s are more than 40kg lighter than the previous models, and they come serious spec’d up in a load of goodies. We’re talking Brembo Stylema Monobloc stoppers, adjustable Showa suspension and a whole host of electronic wizardry, covering everything from optimised corner ABS & Traction Control, to Hill Hold control and keyless ignition.
Price hasn’t been announced yet, but there will be two models, with the R being the sportier of the two and the GT being the comfier cruiser type.
