New colour LCD dash, Bluetooth connectivity, LED lights and fresh Dunlops sharpen the middleweight twin for next year
We like the Ninja 650 round here. Okay, it’s a little on the steady side – but remember, that engine is at the heart of some of the best Minitwin and Supertwin racebikes around – so it’s got a load of potential.
In road form, it makes a super-practical runabout, but is also pleasing enough on weekend blasts. So – not too much broken in truth, but for 2020, Kawasaki’s giving it a bit of a makeover anyway. The main story is a new colour TFT LCD dash, bringing the Ninja 650 into line with the likes of the Versys 1000SE and the H2 SX supertourer. That also brings in Bluetooth connection, so you can hook yer phone up to the bike for all manner of useful trickery. We assume it will also let you connect to the ‘My Kawasaki Rideology’ app thingy they are currently rolling out.
Headlights are now full LED, and a set of fresh Dunlop Roadsport 2 rubber completes the 2020 tweakage.
More on this – and full specs – will be revealed at the Milan show in a few weeks’ time. Woo!
