The new helmet from Arai has been completely redesigned and packed with new safety features. Let’s take a closer look.
The Tour-X5 helmet from Arai is new for 2024 and has been redesigned from the ground up to provide more protection than ever.
Probably the biggest change this time around is to the visor. Based on the VAS-V system developed for the RX-7V, this new VAS-A visor system maximises surface area for glancing off impact energy whilst offering easy installation and removal of the visor and peak.
Its now a Max Vision visor, so a Pinlock insert can easily be installed, and it is easier to switch to one of the other styles. You can choose between Adventure, Off-road and On-road.
There’s also a new ventilation system, which features the 3D logo duct, previously introduced on the Quantic, and a new chin vent.
The Tour-X5 also features the inner vent gate to flow air to the mouth or visor for increased defogging.
Ventilation parts like the 3D Logo Duct, AR Spoiler and Delta Duct 6 are designed to break off during an impact for maximum Glancing Off performance.
Inside, the interior is fully removable, with an adjustable pad at the rear of the crown pad. A redesigned nose deflector makes goggles easier to use and FCS cheek pads will give a firm fit both on- and off-road.
There are a bunch of different colourways on offer, from matt black to fluorescent yellow.
